Today I am excited to announce that Joel Crane is rejoining MetaGeek! Joel began his career in Wi-Fi as a Customer Support Representative at MetaGeek eight years ago. While at MetaGeek Joel progressed from a Wi-Fi n00b to a Certified Wireless Network Expert. After five years at MetaGeek doing customer support, webinars and training, Joel decided to increase his industry experience and knowledge by moving to Ekahau to be a Sales Engineer (and later the Technical Training Manager). Most recently Joel has been honing his skills as a Channel Sales Engineer at Mist Systems.

As MetaGeek becomes a mission-driven company, focused on helping everyday people connect for essential activities (work, school, health, etc), there are two main paths that we are pursuing:
Tools for people working from home
Tools for Wi-Fi admins that are supporting essential networks, such as offices and schools.

With everyone at MetaGeek working from home since March we are intimately familiar with the needs of people working from home. We are less familiar with the needs of Wi-Fi admins and Pros, who have a huge impact on Wi-Fi connectivity. In order to achieve our mission we need to have a better understanding of Wi-Fi Pros and be more engaged in the Wi-Fi Pros community…

Which brings me back to Joel. Joel not only brings extensive knowledge of the Wi-Fi industry, he also brings a deep connection with the Wi-Fi Pros community. Joel is involved with the WLAN Pi project and regularly presents at WLPC and other industry conferences. We are excited to have Joel back at MetaGeek and look forward to increased community engagement and innovation that will result from his return :-)
