Just about a year ago, we had our tradeshow booth packed up and were preparing for a flight to Indianapolis for the 2011 CEDIA EXPO. We’d participated in trade shows before, but the CEDIA EXPO was a new one for us. We weren’t sure what to expect when attending, but we were glad that we went– the EXPO was so fantastic that we’re getting ready to make the same trip again this year.

The CEDIA EXPO is focused on the technologies found in the new integrated home. Custom home wireless network installers have used MetaGeek’s Wi-Fi and RF tools for years to make sure home wireless systems are set up right the first time and to troubleshoot problems that emerge.

Over the last few years, the importance of wireless in the home has increased exponentially. Think of the devices you commonly use in your home: TVs, media streamers, phones, thermostats, lighting and security systems… more and more devices relying on wireless connections to the home network. It’s vital that people who install and support these home networks have both the right knowledge and the right tools in their kit, which is exactly what CEDIA works to do.

At the EXPO last year, we focused on getting the right tools to the technology professionals who need them most (read more about some of our tools in this CE Pro article). This year, MetaGeek has been invited by CEDIA University to teach the Wireless Network Technologies (EST253) and Advanced Wireless Networking (EST353) classes!

Both EST253 and EST353 are part of CEDIA’s new Residential Networking Specialist Credential, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to both teach and learn at CEDIA EXPO 2012. Join us for EST253 in room 137 on Wednesday September 5 from 1:00 to 5:00 or on Friday the 7th at the same time.
